Here are some ideas to do at home.
Year 6 Home Learning Write a newspaper report about the effects of 'The Beast from the East'. Remember to include an introduction that has the 5Ws and quotes to support the story. Think about how people all over the country have been affected. Make a poster that includes all the word classes. Explain what they all are and give some examples. Think back to all the different types we have looked at in class. Try and create different types of questions about word classes which you can give to a friend when we get back to school. Make some number cards from a scrap piece of paper. Use these to practise the 4 operations (adding large number, subtracting a large number from a larger number, multiplying a 4-digit number by a 2-digit and dividing a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number and a 2-digit number). Can you use decimals? Try and write some word problems about the snow. Can you make them more challenging by making them 2 step word problems? Mrs O'Connor and Miss Wood
